Colonials Serve: Cradles to Crayons Service Day in Philadelphia
Date: Saturday, April 5
George Washington's motto was "Deeds, not Words." To capture the spirit of this motto, the Philadelphia Alumni Network invites you to participate in a day of service to give back to the greater Philadelphia community. Cradles to Crayons is an organization that provides disadvantaged children under the age of 12 with basic everyday needs such as school supplies, clothing, shoes, and toys.
Volunteers are asked to inspect, sort, and package donated items into “KidPacks” to be used by families around the Greater Philadelphia region. In addition to volunteering at the “Giving Factory” warehouse, volunteers are asked to donate new/gently used items for children (clothing, shoes, books, toys, school supplies, and baby equipment). All volunteers age 6 and over are welcome to take part in this event. Participants should wear close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing.
We ask that every adult volunteer pre-register with Cradles to Crayons using the following link: http://www.cradlestocrayons.org/node/add/registration/a0RC000000Cni2y.
Carpooling from downtown Philadelphia will be available for those needing transportation. If you would like to carpool, please indicate your preference on the registration page. We will contact you to coordinate pick up times, locations, and other details.
This organization is relying on our efforts as volunteers. If you need to cancel, please be sure to do so at least 2 days prior to the event.
Online registration for this event is now closed. If you are interested in attending, please email Derek Jasante, Coordinator of Regional and Young Alumni Programs, at email@example.com.
